60% of businesses in Australia will fail within their first three years of operation,
with 20% of businesses failing in their first year.
What is even more surprising is that 40% of companies that fail are profitable.
Cash flow forecasting is an essential skill for companies. Especially in the current climate of inflation, high-interest rates and uncertainty. Having a clear understanding of cash flows and business assumptions expressed in financial terms is key to business survival.
A cash flow will clearly articulate the funding requirements of a business and invariable leads to a requirement to raise funds.
One of the key elements in raising funds is a clear and concise financial forecast, which articulates and shows prospective investors the likely results of their investment, given clear and articulated assumptions.
My experience in the preparation of financial forecasts and information documents and my presentation skills provide a much-needed and sought-after “financial” head to facilitate discussions with investors.
